Senior Footwear Technician / Pattern Maker (m/w/d)

Your mission

Collaborate with designers, developers, and engineers to interpret 2D sketches and 3D concepts into accurate, manufacturable patterns.
Develop and refine patterns for all stages of the product development cycle—from initial prototype through to production.
Create, modify, and grade patterns with a focus on fit, comfort, performance, and manufacturability.
Work hands-on in the lab to build and evaluate prototypes alongside the development team.
Conduct wear testing and fit trials; implement necessary pattern corrections based on feedback and performance data.
Ensure patterns align with intended design, last shape, and manufacturing constraints.
Optimize upper and bottom tooling alignment for performance and functionality.
Guide junior technicians and pattern makers where needed; uphold high standards of quality and consistency.
Work with CAD/CAM pattern software and, when necessary, manual pattern making tools.
Liaise directly with sample rooms and factories to ensure precise pattern handoff and clear construction instructions.
Maintain detailed documentation for all pattern revisions and updates.

Your profile

Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in performance footwear development and pattern making.
Deep knowledge of footwear construction methods, materials, and performance requirements.
Expertise in TPU welding and KPU injection processes, with the ability to design and develop patterns that optimize bonding strength, durability, and aesthetic precision.
Strong understanding of lasts, fit optimization, and footwear biomechanics.
Proficiency in CAD software for footwear pattern engineering
Skilled in both digital and manual pattern making and prototyping techniques.
Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges across various upper constructions and performance categories.
Experience collaborating with designers, engineers, and sample room teams to translate concepts into manufacturable solutions.
Detail-oriented with a high level of craftsmanship and accuracy.
Fluent or native in Mandarin, English speaking is a big plus
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on development environment based in Dongguan.
